Fuck Winter, go snowboarding!

The sun was shining again and you can wear a T-Shirt if there is no wind. Anyways the snow is still there and as soon as the wind pics up it feels like winter. And what can you do during winter? Exactly some snowboarding – in our case urban boarding. I met with some friends, two slacklines, snowboards shovels and a couple of beer in Lübeck for a little kicker session in a park.

It was pretty amazing, the “normal” people where sledding down the small hill, while some of us were on the 25m Slackline or jumping over the kicker. Even if the hill was not too steep the kicker was high enough to get you one or two meters up in the air. It was so amazing to get on the board again and even more amazing if you realize where you are – directly in the city.

We managed to take some pictures of the event. Next time we will be up for some sizling cold SUP action through our icy canals in Lübeck and I planned a kitesurfing photoshoot with Niels Jende this week. And be prepared for the big SurfCenter party on thursday. Follow me on Facebook if you wanna join our next events. Take care guys, you can find me on the water during till Wensday – the forecast looks good.

Fuck winter, go slacklining!

This was the kickstarter event for my “Fuck winter, go …” series. The idea is to start all the fun summer stuff again and stop caring about this long and cold winter that holds us back. For more information check my last blog post.

So today I met with Simon and Stev at our local slack spot in Lübeck. Of course covered by a lot of snow and we even had a snowman near by haha. Then we got into our Snowboarding suits and put some neoprene boots on to stay warm. We decided to span the line for it’s full 25m – quite a tough start for the first session. Anyways the body remembers the movements and techniques really fast and it was a blast to slack through this all white winter scenery. We even had some snow fall while we were on the line.

A lot of people walked by asking what the hell we were doing here in the snow and stopped watching at our misplaced activity. In the end I must say. Crashing in the snow is a lot softer than on the ground during summer and it was not cold at all because slacking keeps you warm. So go out and have fun guys! And stay tuned for the next events which will cover kiting, SUP and a lot more!
