Kickstarting my world trip

Finally everything in Germany is done. I successfully finished my thesis and therefore also my studies. The last days in Germany were so great, as the weather was quite good for autumn and I had my big goodbye party with around 150 great guests. There were also sick events like the RedBull Coast2Coast and the Pangea festival, where I hit some sick kickers.

Now I finally am in paradise! Chilling in Uruau, Brazil. Enjoying the wind and the flatwater lagoon and working on my tricks a lot! The people staying here are just awesome and we are having a blast on the water or at the cosy local restaurants. Take tis post and pictures as a little appetizer! There will be a lot more soon. I just need to get everything sorted. Stay tuned.

Wakeboarding and RBRH

As every year it gets a little bit more quiet on my page, as exams are coming closer and I have to do a lot of things for the university. Luckily this will be my last semester as I am finishing my Bachelor thesis as we speak! So gonna be free for some time soon!

Anyways last week I had great conditions on the water with good friends. I had two incredible days on my favorite island Fehmarn. Finally I felt comfortable enough to go for unhooked kiteloops again. My knee is holding perfectly – hamdullah!

This weekend was also pretty stuffed, starting with a great RedBull party on Saturday – thanks for the invitation again! On Sunday – quite puzzled hehe – I had the chance to hit the cable again. Grinding some sliders, rocking the kickers and practicing my latest tricks (Blind Judge and Backmobe). I appended some pictures at the end of the article.

The next and last stop of the weekend was the RedBull Rising High. Sick action of international pro Wakeboarders, who were getting BIG on this incredible kicker. It was really a unique event with 15000 spectators in the middle of Hamburg. Big kudos to RedBull for making this happen! Enough of the past – check the forecast guys it’s looking great! Time for some action and also gonna produce some videos and pictures soon so stay tuned and rip hard!

Videoreview: KST Damp 2013

As promised in my post about the first trophy stop in Damp I worked on the video review the last days. As we didn’t had the best wind there is not too much action in the video – let us hope for more during the next event. Anyways for everybody, who was not there it is a nice wrap-up of the event. Now sit back and enjoy.

First trophy stop in Damp

So it has been one week since the first big surf event of the season. Next week the contest season in Germany finally starts with the first stop of the KST (Kitesurf Trophy), which is also the Germany championship. I will be there from Friday to Sunday with the intention to compete in Freestyle and just for fun in the race compartment. As the event is also living from it’s spectators I hope a lot of you guys join os on the water and on the beach. The parties are legendary so make sure you don’t miss it!

Unluckily I didn’t have the chance to get on the water the last 7 weeks because of my blow out knee. Therefore I have no clue how my shape is on the water and how well I am able to perform. Anyways it looks like there will be a big storm hitting our coast on Wednesday and Thursday. And as I got university holidays I have the chance to get two days of training just before the event. Lets see whats possible and maybe the break was good for my body to recover from the intense training before. So save the date and see you in Damp next weekend!

Slack ‘n’ Wake

Hey there guys, the last time was a little bit quiet again as I was pretty busy getting my university stuff. As we have many seminars and presentations at the moment it is really a lot of work – but anyways still got enough time for some serious indoor climbing, wakeboarding and other funsport acticities like slacklining.

Finally my new Elephant Slackline (25m, 35mm) arrived and it is really an awesome toy. I am trying really hard to get better in slacking as it is quite challanging for my coordinative skills. Walkig the 25 m is a pretty hard task! So I went to Raceburg last weekend for an intense 3h slack sesh directly at the lake. You can’t imagine how exhausting it get’s to just walk on a line!

Another highlight of the last days was our Wakeboard session, with the surfdudes, yesterday. Pushing it to the max, working a lot on my slider and kicker skills was my main goal, but also refining my railey and backroll to improve the style. Feeling pretty sore now after a 6 hours wake session – but anyway it feels good hehe.

And as always doing the normal training in the climbing gym, pushing hard towards the upper 8. UIAA grade. Making very nice progress at the moment and now starting to enhance my training with adding at least one boulder day per week to get more strength and a superior technique. Also took over the youth and adult training and coaching in the “Nordwandhalle” for the next 2 months.

So so far for the last time guys. Need to get back to work now and wish you all a nice time. I hope for some wind the next days. So see you at the wall or on the water! Also appended some photos of the last days.

Video of the last Wakeboardsession

Heja guys, had some time to finish the editing from our chilly wakeboardsession last week. It was recorded by my brother Finn at the cable park in Hamburg Harburg. If you don’t know it you should visit it one day – relaxed vibes over there.

The forecast promises us some wind for this weekend – therefore it is kite time: You can find us at Wulfener Hals on Fehmarn ripping the flatwater. Anyways it’s getting really cold in Germany (yesterday it was snowing in Hamburg). So let’s get on the water and enjoy as long as possible.

Chilly, dilly Wakeboarding Session

Finally got on the water again – as the wind left us for a quite long time,I had the chance to do some Wakeboarding in Hamburg today. 7 degree, clouds and fog. But anyways a great day with my dudes hitting some kickers and just getting crazy on the cable.

Most of the time I was trying to perform my kite-wakestyle tricks on the cable, which is just really different and quite challenging – and a lot more painful! Also improving on sliding rails and working the funboxes. It’s always a big highlight to shred the whole day without being dependent on the wind. Later in the day we started to film a little bit, so I will probably be able to publish a new video soon.
