I was born in Lübeck, a town near to the Baltic Sea, and as my parents are windsurfers, I kind of grew up on the beach. As a kid I started windsurfing pretty early and kept on with various watersports. Finally
in 2007 on Fuerteventura I saw Kiteboarding for the first time and immediately wanted to start this insane looking sport. And this is how it began … never got off the hook again.
Loving the freedom and fun of kitesurfing, I started to invest all my free time to push my limits further.

In 2010 I decided to work with it when I did my kitesurfing instructor. I did it quite straight: My Watersportsassistant first, then the kite instructor course and after this I left to Egypt for half a year, which was a nice opportunity to get some intense training in good conditions. After I came back I switched to Naish and started working for “Kailua Sports” and “Sail and Surf Pelzerhaken Naish Procenter”. At the moment I am kind of stuck in Hamburg, finishing my studies in Computational Informatics – gonna be through this in 2013. I’m trying to get on the water as much as possible to push my limits further. As he most of the year we either have no wind or it’s freaking cold, I try to get off from Germany as often as possible and focus on my second passion: Freeclimbing.

For me it’s important to be at the beach, in the nature and just have a fun time.

My Gear 2012

It has a long history in Kiteboarding and is known as one of the most powerful C-Kites – the award winning Torch is the perfect fun toy for me. Power on demand, easy upwind and nice turning speed. In 2012 the Shift Bar system improved a lot for me: Better adjuster and easier to grab one handed. For every advanced rider I just can entrust you to give it a try. Even if the trend goes more to Hybrid or open C kites, for advanced stuff you can feel the difference between these models and a non compromising C-Kite like the Torch. If you rather search something more smooth, check out the Park at the Naish homepage. A pretty cool Open C Kite, which I often use to try new stuff or just for the sake of fun, while freeriding.

This is THE freestyle Board 2012, sophisticated underwater shape and hightech materials merged with years of riding experience. Topped with the best pads on the market. No spray, soft landings and incredible pop. For me this is the Naish product of the year, as I am absolutely excited about this toy. It really helped me to push my own limits further, because a good board supports your riding a lot. Personally for me the 135 length worked out best for me as I have a rather broad stance.

My choice for bindings, developed just for the use with wakeboard bindings. And this is something you can feel. It got big channels and rails in the underwater shape, which make it easily rideable without fins and it has a very durable coating that makes the board perfect for the use on kickers and sliders. This is one of the best mixtures between a kiteboard and a wakeboard I ever got under my feets. You can easily ride it at the cable as a wakeboard or use it with fins and pads as a wakestyle kiteboard.
